What grade levels should participate in the Reading Club?
The Reading Club is appropriate for all grade levels and teachers may tailor it to the reading ability of their students. For example, kindergarten teachers may want to encourage the parents to read to the children as a way to earn points; for older students, teachers may want to set the guidelines around books, pages, or newspaper articles.
How much money will it cost my school to join?
Nothing! It is free for your school to join the Reading Club and we will provide all the materials you need to implement it.
Do I have to collect the ticket forms and money for all the students?
It depends. You have two options, outlined below:
1 - Group Ticket Order Form: if you want everyone in your school to sit together, you will need to collect the individual ticket order forms yourself. Then submit the total numbers and money using the Group Order Form.
2 - Individual Ticket Order Form: if you do not want to worry with money, have the parents/individuals submit their forms directly to us. We will handle it from there.
How do the students get to the game?
The students who earn a free ticket have the option to purchase discount tickets for their friends and family members. We will have a lot of weekend games to choose from so they can make a family trip to the ballpark for their Reading Club day.
Does the free ticket come with free food?
Unfortunately, due to the enormous amount of students who participate in the Reading Club, we cannot provide free food. However, we do offer meal deal packages that can be purchased for the students and family members for $6.00. These include a hot dog, soda, and chips. There is no obligation to purchase the Reading Club meal deals. You may redeem your Meal Deal, if purchased, at any concession stand starting when gates open.
What if my school already participates in the Accelerated Reader program?
The Nashville Sounds Reading Club is a good complement to the Accelerated Reader program. Your teachers can use the Accelerated Reader to monitor the students' progress and our Reading Club as an extra incentive for the completed assignments.
What's my reward as a teacher for participating in the Reading Club?
To show our appreciation, at the completion of the Reading Club, the Nashville Sounds will provide all participating teachers with two free passes to any Sounds game.
Where will the Reading Club participants be seated for the game?
Reading Club participants and their family and friends will be seated in the best available seats in the house.
What if I am unable to attend my assigned game date?
You may redeem any un-used game ticket for a general admission seat at any other game in the season. There are 9 Reading Club days in which we encourage you to attend in order to take advantage of the Meal Deal and on-field parade.
What if I have multiple children participating in the Reading Club?
Just fill out one of the ticket order forms, attach the other children's order forms and include one $2 handling fee. We will make sure you all sit together.
May I purchase Meal Deals at the Box Office?
Meal deals may only be purchased before the day of the game, by using your ticket order form.
I ordered and received my tickets. Now what?
Enjoy the game! The Reading Club parade begins about an hour before game time. Start lining up when gates open by the Delta Dental Deck at the back entrance of the stadium. You will begin at the 327 sign and parade around the warning track. You may redeem your Meal Deal, if purchased, at any concession stand starting when gates open.
What time does the Reading Club parade begin?
The Reading Club parade begins about an hour before the game starts. Lineup for the parade takes place at the 327 sign in left field.
Where do I turn in my Home Run Voucher?
At Fan Relations, located just inside the main entrance on the first base side of teh ballpark. Please make sure that all fields of the form are completely filled out, along with seat location (this helps us to find you if you don’t hear your name called).
When are names drawn for prizes?
Names are drawn and announced during the game, between innings. So make sure you listen carefully!
What kind of prizes can I win if I turn in my Home Run voucher?
Ipods, bikes, pizza parties, ice cream parties, skating parties, Sounds skybox for a night, and many other exciting prizes!
